Weekly Analysis of QQQ and VOO

I posted yesterday that most likely QQQ would wind up with an inside weekly candle that didn’t have confirmation and that’s exactly where we ended the week.

$QQQ weekly chart in Trendspider shows the inside green candle

Not surprisingly the VOO chart is almost exactly the same

$VOO weekly chart in Trendspider also shows the inside green candle

When looking at the % total return of each index during this time, you’ll see QQQ outperformed VOO from Oct until now and they are in line with the pullback and then slight recovery recently as well.

Total Returns of $VOO vs. $QQQ during the time period the chart shows.

My Take

I am still cautious. Yes I’ve done some major buys around this time, but I’ve said they are longer term. I think we may have more downside, but I do see long term that we are up. I said it on 4/19 when QQQ was trading around $420 - I think we end the year higher than $420 (maybe I was on an edible that day).

I made a big buy yesterday - why did I buy on Friday?
